GMI were proud sponsors of the Level 3 Apprentice of the Year Award at Wakefield College’s inaugural Apprenticeships Awards ceremony which took place at Unity Works on Monday 14 March 2016.

The event kicked off a week of activities to mark National Apprenticeships Week.

The evening commenced with a drinks reception in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Wakefield, Councillor Harry Ellis, himself a former apprentice electrician, and the Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Janet Ellis.

Award winners at the glittering ceremony were joined by College staff, parents and local employers to celebrate the success of apprentices, recognising those who have shown hard work and commitment, both in their college work and in their workplace.
