GMI Construction Group PLC has recently announced a donation of £5,000 to Property for Kids (PFK) which saw the return of 380 people from the property and construction industry to the Macdonald Burlington Hotel.
Since its launch in 2006 the BRENDAs (Birmingham Real Estate Novel Development Awards) has grown to become one of the most well supported and most ‘looked forward to’ event in Birmingham and raises significant funds for disadvantaged children in the Midlands.
The BRENDAs is a spoof awards event, which this year was based on the popular TV programme refashioned as ‘Would Brenda Lie to You’?
Speaking about the event and the charity donation, GMI Divisional Managing Director, Andy Bruce said: “The BRENDAs is such a fantastic occasion for such a great cause so GMI were naturally delighted to get involved and more than pleased to support the cause with our donation.
“The lunch itself is so well attended by so many good people from across the Midlands real estate and property fraternity and is an occasion not to be missed. We are 100% committed to supporting the charitable causes in the areas in which GMI operate and pleased to play a small part in the fantastic work that PFK does.”
Jilly Cosgrove, Managing Director of Barques and Chair of PFK said:
“The BRENDAs is all about raising much needed funds for charity, while having fun. Tables for this event sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale, which demonstrates just how popular the event is and we are extremely fortunate to have the support of the property and construction industry.
“GMI helped to raise over £5,000 for this event alone by taking a table, sponsoring an award and making a donation. We are hugely grateful for their magnificent support and are looking forward to working with them on our next event in December.”
