The Role (Midlands base)

The Proposals Manager is responsible for creating and overseeing bid proposal documentation on behalf of GMI to gain business contracts or offer of work.

Key Deliverables

  • Ensure timely production of all bid proposals, capability documents, PQQ’s etc.
  • Work with Pre Construction Manager and support  ownership of end-to-end bid process, including assigning responsibility & actions to other GMI colleagues where required.
  • Accountable for the implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance, and processes.
  • Responsible for Brand Implementation & Consistency.

Main Role Responsibilities

  • To manage the bid qualification process for new opportunities.
  • Prepare and review all aspects of a bid proposal, ensuring all services are included in the documents to the client.
  • Leading answer planning sessions
  • Full responsibility for the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation, with support of specialist functions including H&S , Planning and Delivery .
  • Liaise with the Divisional MD/Pre Construction Manager with regards to the bid budget(s).
  • Ensure timely delivery of compliant bids.
  • Good understanding and ability to implement any internal governance procedures.
  • Arrange all post-bid reviews with customers & provide feedback database updates where necessary.
  • Ensuring of Data Protection compliance in line with legislation.
  • Meticulous record keeping of all relevant paperwork, using the operating framework as required.
  • Able to develop creative presentations and bid solutions , including working with external graphic designer, using   software as required (Mark Up)
  • Able to develop Project Data Sheets and Key Personnel CV’s
  • Development of Bid answer library
  • Storage of all documentation in SharePoint in accordance with the company’s information management policy and guidelines
  • Be an ambassador for the cultural values at GMI, leading by example.
  • Any other reasonable duties to suit your abilities as directed by management.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable working at CEO / Director Level – (internal and external clients).
  • Will be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace.
  • Have the ability to manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft packages i.e. word, excel, project and teams.
  • Full working knowledge and experience of adobe suite and InDesign.
  • Ability to multitask and good coordination skills.
  • Good attention for detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technology and relevant software packages / Competence in using the relevant business systems to suit the job role.

  • Degree educated or equivalent experience at a professional level.
  • Experience in bid writing and bid visualisation.
